One of the most popular artists working in the YAOI/BL genre of gay-themed manga for more mature readers, C. J. Michalski here offers a half dozen related stories about love. Typical is the title story, a romantic comedy about the half-human, half-cupid Tsubasa. In order to progress to full cupid, he must unite a couple. However, the target is an evil man named Norimasa, who shows no love for anyone. By accident, Tusbasa makes himself Norimasa’s love match. Tsubasa and Norimasa are attracted to each other, but is this cupid magic or true love? Both sexy and comedic, the stories in  Delivery Cupid appeal to a broad range of adult manga readers.… (altro)

Six stories, four with a light fantasy theme. The first is about an half angel/cupid trying to become full-fledged by finding the true love of an immoral pervert, the next about a normal boy in school who loves the popular guy and gets a love-water-gun-type-thing to make his wish come true. The third is a Cinderella story about a newspaper boy and the rich boy he likes, the fourth about an angel of death who falls in love with, of course, a terminally ill boy. The last two are about an ice cream stand clerk who fantasizes about one of his customers, and a waiter from a fancy restaurant who meets a very kind bum after being fired.

These stories are pure sweet, silly fluff. The first one isn't even really romantic. I mean, it's the story of a boy who finds the dreams he sought after all his life are crushed when he is raped by a man who loves him due to a Cupid's arrow. By the end his body kind of seems to like the sex, but he himself apart from that seems kind of exasperated and maybe even miserable. But, you know, it's the silly kind of exasperated and miserable. For comic relief. Haha.

Most of the rest of the stories, as you can kind of tell, just take the usual BL plots and put a light fantasy spin on them. Execution wise it's same old, though there's a bigger focus on comedy, and sometimes I did find it a little funny, though it did get a little overly silly for me sometimes.

The art here is the best part to me. The ukes are invariably light haired, big-eyed, short, cute things, and the semes tall, dark, and uber masculine, but at least it's all clean and attractively drawn. There's also more detail and skill in the clothes and backgrounds than we usually get with yaoi art, I think.

Lack of substance doesn't always mean lack of enjoyment. The mild fantasy elements were kind of refreshing and make the book stand out a bit, and it can be funny, depending on how much silliness you can take. But I read BL for the romance, and I was having a hard time finding any of this shallow, silly stuff romantic, even in the non-rape stories. I tended to be mildly entertained for the beginning, but then slightly annoyed as the characters got together quickly and with little ceremondy by the ends. For the art, fantasy, and sometimes mildly amusing humor, I'll give it slightly above average, though. ( )

I have bought this manga cause I have fallen in love for an untraslated story of CJ Michalski, A Toy with Sadness, and still hope to be able to bought it in english in the future (and maybe read more of the story, I hope it's not finish yet). Meantime I amuse myself with this collection of oneshot stories

Delivery Cupid: the story that gives the name to the collection is funny, but not more than that. A young half angel half human has to gain his right to be a full angel playing the role of Cupid. But God assigns him the wrong case, and our little cupid has to face a big and pervert sexy shop owner. And when the man has in his hands the cute angel, he knows what to do...

Love Beam: a boy has a crush on an highschoolmate, but he has no courage to go near him. So when God (disguise as an old man) give him a magic gun with the power to draw the person you love, our pretty student thinks to use it to draw his love. But he doesn't know that he has no need of the gun to draw the sexual attention of his highschoolmate.

Cinderfella: a poor student is deeply in love with a rich guy he sees every morning when he delivers the newspaper. And when God gives him the chance to sort a wish, he asks to be able to meet his secret love. But after midnight, the dream will go on?

With You Forever: an angel of death has to take the life of a young boy who has been ill for all his life and has had no chance to have a real life. But when he meets the boy, so young and shy, the angel falls in love with him and asks God to lift him of his assignment. But it's no possible...

Ai Scream: an ice cream dealer has a crush for one of his customer who arrives every day at the same hour and buy an ice cream. He wants to confess his love but the summer is nearly finished and he has not yeat gained the courage to do it.

Under the Star Light: a cute waiter is fired from the most exclusive restaurant of the city cause he has rejected the sexual arrassment of the maitre. Outside the restaurant he meets a bum who is really gentle with him and he confesses to him his desire: to be able to eat in the restaurant only for one time...

Of all the stories, my favourites are Cinderfella and With You Forever (even if this last is pretty sad...). Maybe is the romantic in me...

The style of the main characters are almost the same in all the story, the top is always big and dark, the bottom if little and blond. Only in Love Beam CJ Michalski has inverted the couple, in the colors but not in the looks. The stories are enjoyable, but I still wait for the translation of A Toy with Sadness...
