This is Gabriel’s story and the end of the Knight Miscellany group of books. It is very sad to see this family’s stories come to an end. They have provided a great deal of entertainment for me of the last several months. I was very glad that we got to see all the Knights show up for Gabriel’s wedding. I wish we had seen more of them in the other two books that are part of this series. I have been concerned about Gabriel since he was injured in HER ONLY DESIRE. He has been so lost and alone. He is also very morbid. It must be the near death experience that he had in India but he seems convinced that he is going to die soon. I was very glad that this dire prediction didn’t happen. Princess Sophia of Kavros is royalty in exile, her kingdom taken from her family by Napoleon. She has people looking for so she can be killed like the rest of her family. Gabriel and Sophia must work together so she can reclaim her throne. The journey shows Gabriel the destiny that he has been searching for and shows Sophia that love is more than she could ever conceive.

Gabriel is one of those alpha males that must take care of people. He is caring and compassionate as the incident in the barn with the kittens shows. He is one of those men that sacrifice themselves to save their men in battle. Gabriel is also courageous and honorable. He is one of those men that so many of us would love to have in our beds. He is gentle and loving with Sophia even when she needs to be spanked. I am so glad that he found someone that will love him and provide a direction that he has lost.

Sophia is also a caring and compassionate young woman. She is determined to reach her kingdom and help her people. She is fierce and courageous. She is also loyal to a fault. It was so fun at times to watch her and Gabriel butt heads. Her only real problem is that she has been spoiled and thinks that getting her way is all important. The way that she treated Gabriel in the last few chapters of the book set my teeth on edge. Things work out in the end; however it is hard to read.

This is a wonderful book that shows some of the history of the Mediterranean after the war with Napoleon. We are also given a glimpse into the politics of the Ottoman Empire. There are some intense battles in this book and some very steamy love scenes. This is a quick moving book that is very entertaining. I hope that those that read it are just a entertained as I was. ( )

DNF. The story just didn't engage me for some reason. Gave up at about the halfway mark.

Princess Sophia is the last of a royal family who have ruled over a small Island near Greece. Now there are forces determined to stop her from taking her role as princess. When her party is ambushed en route to a meeting Sophia escapes to a farm.

The farm is leased by Gariel Knight. He has given up his posessions and laid down his arms. Now Sopia comes into his world and he's not sure what to do with her. Initially he thinks she's a gypsy hired by his brother, but when he finds out who she is he's taken aback as she's well above his station and he's fallen for her.

Love conquers all, fairly predictable plot and not a patch on the first of this sequence. ( )

I love the witty and indecisive character of the lass. ( )
