Friendship is a bond between people of all kinds, no matter if they are a bear, a sheep, a rabbit, and a girl. People of all kind can be friends. In this story, friends learn that if they remain persistent and follow their friends they can uncover much beauty. Even when they do not, they still come across with beauty but now without one of their friends. They look for her and when they find her, she has brought them a cold drink to ease the summer heat. In the end, the friends saw the beauty around them together.
I feel that this book could have been written with a different ending because life does not always give you a happy ending, it is never guaranteed. I would have liked to see that the characters realize what they did to their friend and home they made her feel by leaving her. I think children would be able to get more out of this book if it was written differently. ( )
