This book was very dense and more difficult to dive into as YA nonfiction due in part to a lack of graphics or illustrations to accompany the text. The book was well organized into chapters that addressed the main articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights -- this was really helpful because the first text my students read as part of this unit was the UDHR so it's great to see individual narratives that accompany each issue. I plan to use the chapters on children of war and juvenile detention primarily because as with the conditions of poverty, it is challenging for my students to imagine a world where children fight in wars or are locked up within basic rights or needs addressed. The text is more rigorous but on par with what is required of CCSS so i may even use one of them as an assessment text. ( ) nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
