This is a fun read for kids because it is like a tongue twister story with poetic rhyme. It is about a house and things that happen within the house. Towards the end, I started to think that one of the messages it could be sending is that we are all connected even if it does not seem that way. The farmer fed the cock who woke the priest who married the couple and so on and so forth. Everything we do sets off a chain effect throughout the world. This is a bilingual book which I think is fun for two reasons. One it helps students who are English language learners and it shows kids who may only speak English the fun of other languages. At the end of the book there is questions of what was said like who worried the cat? who killed the rat? et cetera. These questions are a part of the story and how it is read but they also give the teacher a chance to check the ELL students understanding and comprehension of the story. ( ) I enjoyed reading about all of the factors that were apart of the house that Jack was building. I think bilingual books are super cool because we can see side by side two different languages. The rhymes were simple and cute, the same story appeared page after page. Overall a great book, I would use this to introduce children to different languages. This book was a rhyme about the house that Jack built. It tells a quick story about the rat that ate the malt, the cat that scared the rat, and so on and so forth. The illustrator used a very interesting color scheme. I do not think I thoroughly enjoyed this book because of the art, but I would allow it in my library because to some students they may enjoy the art. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
