Some of the stories are better than others. I'd say that most rank in the 4/5 star category. I rated it the way I did because my taste for absurdist fiction can be a bit fickle at times and I would have to put it down quite a few times before picking it back up again. Honestly, though, it's great. Usual for Barthelme. ( )
