The first volume of the Aliens omnibus collection contains 5 original comics; Outbreak, Nightmare Asylum, Female War, Theory of Alien Propagation, and The Alien. Of these only the first two are noteworthy. The last two are only about 10-15 pages each, in which not much happens, but the first two are 100+ pages each with extensive stories. Nightmare Asylum in particular is beautiful, with highly detailed art that is light years beyond the typical stuff you see in most comic books. It's worth reading just for the visuals alone. On the opposite end of the spectrum is Female War, which was just completely terrible in every way imaginable. Uninteresting art, poor storytelling, weak characters. It's just bad, and really bogged down the collection as a whole.

Overall the Omnibus is alright. If you liked the Alien movies, this definitely expands the lore significantly, and in a much better way than that Prometheus movie. *ahem* Beyond that, it's not super impressive, other than Nightmare Asylum. ( )

I remember reading some of these as a kid. For being a movie spin-off, it's fairly good. The artwork varies, usually pretty decent to very telling. The one annoyance is that several of the artist had a tendency to make the alien look very humaniod, which I dislike. ( )

Uneven art but decent stories picking up where James Cameron's "Aliens" movie left off. ( )

En ojämn utgåva, där de delar som illustrerats av Nelson eller Beauvais är av bra kvalitet, medan "Female War" (som i övrigt är ett riktigt bra avsnitt) förstörs av Kieths svaga och barnsliga illustrationer. Att Verheiden står för manuset till samtliga avsnitt gör däremot att hela volymen hänger samman och blir till en enda lång (och inte alls oäven) historia. Dialogen lämnar på sina ställen en del övrigt att önska, men i de flesta fall samspelar handling,berättarröst/dialog och bilder på ett bra sätt. ( )
