Sally Ann is trying to mail a letter to her friend, but monster after monster is getting in the way of the delivery! Finally the mailman saves the day and delivers the letter to Lucy Jane.

This book was about a girl who mailed a letter to her friend Lucy Jane. The letter was taken by seven different monsters! Until, the Bombanat-Collecting Grithix took the letter and put it in an official mailbox and the official mailman came and picked up all the mail. The letter was eventually received by Lucy Jane. There are a few pages in the book that do not contain words part of the story. This is good because you can get many ideas from the kids about what they think is going on.

This is one of the bestest books ever! The illustrations are full of interesting details, and the story is so funny. It was especially meaningful to my children, whose father worked at the Post Office. ( )

A favorite from my childhood. Makes me want to be a mailman. Or a monster. Sadly, it is out of print.
