This is the second book to the Fear Street Saga on how Fear Street came to be. The second generation of Fiers and Goodes are revenging their family. ( )

This second book carries on the story of the Fiers and the Goodes, and their evil family feud. Sometimes the Fiers are hunting down the Goodes, sometime the other way around. And each time the wrath of one family ignites the other. That is until Jonathan Fier decides to end the curse by burying the family's cursed amulet with the ashes of his father. And a period of peace ensues until several generations later when an unwitting member of the family unearths the amulet. And so the evil begins anew.

I really enjoy this story of how the evil of Fear Street began. The books are quick reads and just a bit creepy. The second storyline in this one seemed to wrap up a bit quickly. I would have liked to have learned more about some of the people in the story, particularly Franklin Goode and Simon Fier. Well Simon is in the next book so I will learn more soon. ( )

This was one of my favorite R.L. Stine books growing up. Loved the whole trilogy. It was fun to reread and reminisce. ( )

**Possible Spoilers**

In the second book of the trilogy we pick up with the descendants of the Fier brothers. Benjamin's grandson Ezra is determined to destroy the last of the Goode family forever no matter what the costs to himself or his family. After the death of his father, Ezra, and bride Delilah, Jonathan is determined that the curse will die with him and buries the only heirloom which he believes ties the curse to the family.

Fast forward 100 years, Samuel Fier is the new patriarch of the Fier family. Sam and his children, Simon, Kate & Elizabeth have no knowledge of the horrors the curse has caused his ancestors, but unfortunately the curse is about to re-emerge. Dinner is interrupted one night when a raggedy stranger arrives looking for food in exchange for work. Little do the friendly Fier's know that their lives will soon be disrupted forever because the curse has arrived in Franklin Goode. Simson is too late to save both his parents and his sister Kate but manages to ave himself and his sister Elizabeth with the help of a poison dagger. He is determined to outlive the curse and to changes his fate by changing his name from Fier to Fear after a prophecy that his family's fate is death by fire.

This trilogy was really good in that it kept the suspense going and was not slow moving ( )

This trilogy continues to be the best of the Fear Street books. Now there is an issue with Frank being "the last of the Goodes" because A New Fear is loaded with Goodes. I think it's interesting that the Fears and Goodes are always incredibly attractive and, because of this, constantly falling in love. There is also a problem with the family tree in the front- Delilah and Jonathan never actually finished getting married. ( )
