I was on a Grace Livingston Hill kick a while back and read several of her novels. They are always quaint and old-fashioned, sometimes a little preachy, but almost always a nice relaxing read. (

Another classic Grace Livingston Hill story, filled with romance, but also with the story of faith in Christ and how that will change a person. Astra will have a chance meeting on a train one snowy night with Charles Cameron and this will change both their lives forever. There is always someone though who threatens happiness, and in this story you will find evil, but God's goodness will prevail. I am a big fan of this author and am always encouraged after reading one of her stories. (

A Christmas story about an orphaned young lady who flees her cruel guardians and meets a fine upstanding young man on a train. Mutual admiration leads to time spent with bratty nieces and nephews (his) and escaping cruel relatives (hers) until true love can blossom. (
