"There's a Zoo in Room 22" is about a teacher going through the alphabet with her students and picking a classroom pet for each letter they come to. For example, they pick pet names such as: Amanda Anaconda, Boring Beetle Bill, and Claude the Cat. They go through the whole alphabet learning about different animals and understanding the alphabet better while turning their classroom into a zoo. This book involves poetry and alliteration throughout the book as well. Each page contains the title, which is a pet name that uses alliteration, and a poem that describes the pet. This kind of format of the book teaches children about poetry, alliteration, animals, and the alphabet all at the same time. For these reasons, that is why I really enjoy this book. I would definitely read this book to my own students to make them better understand the alphabet and to introduce them to the elements of poetry and different animals, ( ) There's A Zoo In Room 22 is a book of poems about the alphabet. When Miss Darling's students ask about getting a classroom pet, they are surprised to hear that they can have one for each letter of the alphabet. These students pick an animal to represent each letter and describe them to us. This book is very catchy and uses rhyme and alliteration to keep the readers hooked. Each poem is different but also is connected through the writing style. I thought that these traits helped me stay interested. I really enjoyed "Lunch-box Lemur" which is about their lemur who is also a raider of lunch-boxes. This books goes through the alphabet. For each letter of the alphabet, the student of Room 22, have a different pet. I liked this book of poems. This book could be used to teach new animals because in the book they name animals that some children may not be familiar with. That way they get to learn something new all while studying literature. I loved this. It was so adorable, very unlike the other poetry books I've read. I liked that each poem was related to the overall plot of the book. In a way they tell a story. This book would be good for studying poetry and rhyming words or even learning the alphabet or different kinds of animals. It was so cute. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
