witybe: I love reading the Holy Bible and the international version, it breaks words down more so you can understand. It offers me hope in a hopeless world, and’ that there is more to life than what we see or experience day to day; that there was, and still is a spiritual realm around us, which is God and His son Jesus, long before mankind was even created. The Bible informs us that we were created, and did not just appear or form here. It even gives us hope in our death if we believe. Directing us to what is good, and that there is goodness always present, and to what is evil, and why there is evil always present as well. The Holy Bible to me is the Spirit of God reaching down through an infinite expanse of time, using mankind; the prophets of old, touching generations of people, enlightening those who will hear and believe, so that they may help others who will receive and believe. Otherwise without the Holy Bible we all might have been agnostic and generations would have been oblivious about God. The Bible is a light in a very dark world’ that is relentlessly getting darker. Everyone should give it a read in their life rather you’re a believer or not. I give The Holy Bible five stars, nothing else on this planet offers such hope in life and death in this crazy world we live in.… (altro)
I like the part where the dude is up on the cross and he's complaining to Yahweh in Latin and they think he's calling for Elijah. I wonder if I need to hide that for spoilers?
Edit: I also love it when he says you have to hate your family if you want to follow Him. ( )
First sentence: In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

I had heard great things about "early" editions of the Open Bible for years. I was SO excited to find a copy thrifting. I paid a little over three dollars. Depending on where you open The Open Bible, you may or may not get the impression that it is in fact a study Bible. If you have a narrow view of what makes a study Bible a study Bible, then you may still have that opinion. If you are looking for a study Bible that offers study notes--commentary notes--on every chapter of the Bible, then this is not the study Bible you are looking for. If, however, you are looking for a Bible with study helps--no matter where they may be found, then this one could be quite the thing.
Most--if not all--of the study features are located at the BEGINNING or the END of the Bible.
There are book introductions and outlines at the start of each book. There are a light amount of end of verse references AND a few end of verse clarifications on the text to help with archaic words. Speaking of which, there are SOME spelling changes to update the text. I was SO THRILLED with this. Messianic prophecies are indicated by stars in the Old and New Testaments.
The New Testament offers FIFTEEN Christian Life Study Outlines and Notes. The fifteen outlines are as follows: The Bible--the Word of God God Jesus Christ the Son of God The Holy Spirit Sin Judgments Rewards The Church Prayer Faith The Abundant Life Repentance The New Birth God's Plan of Salvation How To Witness Effectively Each features an outline which points you to a handful of Scriptures. Each Scripture features notes.
At the beginning there is a huge section devoted to the Biblical Cyclopedic Index which boasts to be the best blend of concordance, topical index, and syllabus.
It offers dozens of bells and whistles--including a VERY lengthy, very thorough article on HOW TO STUDY YOUR BIBLE. But because all the helps are located at the beginning and end, you might rush right on by and miss out on what the Bible has to offer.
It is double column. It is red letter. The font size is typical or average. If I *had* to guess, I'd say in the eight to nine point range.
Newer versions of the Open Bible do exist. I do think there were some significant changes made. ( )
The Bible - the most profoundly influential book in the history of our world.
The more I read it, the more I notice that different prophets often said the same thing to the people. And having read it a few times, I begin to notice the style difference between the books.
Of course, the most important part is to observe how the prophecies apply to our time and people and ponder what we can and should do to become more obedient to Gods commands. It is amazing how little has changed through the centuries. ( )
This Bible contains many interesting features including colored illustrations, an Index of Curious Facts, An Index to 250 Most Interesting Events of the Bible, Events of the Bible, Natural History of the Bible, Glossary of Scripture of Proper Names, Illustrations and Descriptions of Ancient Money, etc. The pages are thick so they are easy to turn. It is kept in a case in the Lectern Area. Please note that although the case says NIV, this is a King James Version of Scripture.
The Hebrew and Greek Originals are of Qabalistic value. It contains also many magical apologues, and recounts many tales of folklore and magical rites.

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth."
In the beginning God created the Heaven and the Earth
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Bibliographical introduction. Mainly, no doubt, because of the predominance of French as the language of educated people in England from the time of the Norman Conquest until the middle of the fourteenth century, the Bible, as a whole, remained untranslated into English until the last years of the life of Wyclif.

This translation is also known as the "Authorized Version" (especially in the UK) and as the "Authorized King James Version". Please do not combine KJV editions that contain the Apocrypha with this work. Various "study editions" with extensive notes and aids should not be combined here. Please separate any that are here, and combine such editions as separate works.
