Gossip queen ALEX longs to be seen. Cheerleader TULSI is sick of cutting people on her sharp heart. New kid CLEMENTINE can't escape the violence inside. And wallflower SUNJU is tired of keeping quiet. When a twist of fate brings this unlikely quartet together, sparks and punches fly. They call it 'Girls Night,' an underground fight club that's girls only. Soon every girl at Sterling High is showing up to class with bruised knuckles and split lips. Alex, Tulsi, Clementine, and Sun have never felt more alive. Until demonic head cheerleader, Quentin Scarhill, steps in the ring with her eyes on Alex. As Quentin's hold over Alex tightens, Girls Night spirals out of control. Can they take back the reins before things turn deadly? And if Girls Night ends will they throw in the towel on their newfound friendships? Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |

Sunju raised a timid hand. A few girls waved back.
“Last rule,” Alex announced. “No talking about the club, IRL or online. No texting, photos, hashtags, or vague posts. Fight Club is a movie we watched at thirteen to feel like badasses; it has nothing to do with our lives. Got it?”"
After a party is interrupted by cops, new girl Clementine and Alex, Tulsi and Sunju (who invited her along) go to an abandoned parking lot to fight. For fun. And Girl's Night is born. However, as it grows in popularity and more and more girls turn up at school with concealer covered injuries, things star becoming more difficult to hide.
Overall this was a fun read! Think fight club but with high school girls. I very much enjoyed how diverse our main cast was. Seeing their struggles and how they ended up becoming so invested in Girl's Night was vert interesting. I loved the bonds and found family vibes between them. Apparently this was initially polyamorous and I can definitely see that, although it works just as beautifully as a group of close-knit friends. I think the author captured the essence of being a stressed and frustrated teenager who just want everything better beautifully.
Occasionally a thread would get a bit jumbled or difficult to follow, although the overall story was easy to follow. I's say this happens more towards the end, when things start to ramp up and a lot happens very quickly. I feel like some aspects didn't quite get the attention that they deserved, but I understand if the author didn't want the book dragging on. Although there is some kind of resolution, the ending is somewhat open ended. I liked that since I feel like a neat ending after all the messy events wouldn't have felt right. I'm just mentioning it because I know some people want the plot tied up in a nice pretty bow by the end. The ending is good, but there are still things that are going on when it comes. (
