Aubree Rowley has been struggling to keep the family potato farm afloat after the death of her sister Cassidy. Aubree was infuriated to learn that half of the farm was left to Wyatt, the brother of her sister's late husband. Wyatt has no interest in the land and is currently sleeping on the couch of his best friend, Laurel after his fiance left him the night before what was to be their wedding day. Laurel wants Wyatt to get his act together, so she comes up with a plan for a marriage of convenience to Aubree that would benefit them both, and as crazy as it seems, it may just work if their feelings for one another don't get in the way first.

The Reason I Married Him is a fun rom-com with some serious topics. The abuse that Aubree and her siblings suffered as children makes for some emotional moments as well as the depression that Wyatt faces after his fiance leaves him. One of the strongest parts of the book, is the banter between Aubree and Wyatt, which lifts this novel beyond just a typical marriage of convenience story and develops the characters in an entertaining way. Even though the book is a bit too long with some repetition, overall, The Reason I Married Him is well worth the read. ( )
