Summary: A story about divorce and how a child deals with it from being with one parent to another. The dog in the story is a symbol of something stable in the boy's life. This story is about a girl whose parents are going through a divorce. She has a dog named Fred, and every parent's house she goes to, she brings him with her. Fred is like her security blanket in her parent's divorce. Her parents become frustrated with the dog and do not want the dog to live with any of them, and she proclaims Fred doesn't stay with you, Fred stays with me! This story is a cute story to read to children who may be going through a divorce as they can relate to the main character who I think uses Fred as her constant figure when her world seems to be shaken up a little. I wouldn't feel comfortable reading this book to my students, I think divorce is a personal issue, but I would leave this in my library for students who may be going through this. This book is about a girl that has to travel back and forth since her parents are divorced. She describes the differences between both homes yet she brings her dog Fred with her. Even though Fred is a trouble maker, he is the one that helps keep the little girl company and make her happy. Many of the pages in the book are plain and dark which may be used to describe how she is feeling throughout the story. A little girl's dog, Fred, stays with her whether she is at her mom's house or her dad's. His loyalty helps her through a tough time. This is a good book to share with children going through a big change like parents getting divorced. It shows them that having something consistent like at least one good friend can make you feel at home wherever you are. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
