This book is an interesting way of knowing how and what a cat feels like from the inside. The narrator is the cat called Gray. Christmas is a very special time for humans but for cats it is a little different. So much action, new things decorating the house, presents being rapped up and ribbon every where. Strangers come into the house and move in. To the cat - they are loud. Because it is Christmas time, new things such as presents are brought or given to each other. The gift that changed the cat's life was given to Mama (the cat's owner.) It turned out to be a puppy. To live in the same house with a Scottish terrior. To the cat it is a white and fuzzy and ugly as could be. It rans around and sleeps alot but somewhere inside the cat's heart it feels responsible for the wiggly, little beast. The cat feels inside that this is his house and he needs to control and put into order the actions and movements of this puppy. He will try to do the best that he came because after all, it is his house.

It is interesting to have a cat tell the story. To look at a few pictures throughout the book and to realize what a cat feels. To change his life and to accept another member into the family is a major part of a cat's life. The words are simple words but the words come from the cat. Make sure that when the reader begins on page one - they are the cat. Little ears, long tail, and because you are the cat - meow. ( )
