In Los Angeles, Jennifer Narody is having a series of disturbing dreams involving eerie images of a lady in blue. She doesn't know that this same spirit appeared to leaders of the Jumano Native American tribe in New Mexico 362 years earlier, linked to a Spanish nun who had the power to be in two places simultaneously. Meanwhile, journalist Carlos Albert stumbles upon a nearly forgotten seventeenth-century convent in Spain founded by this same legendary woman. Intrigued by her rumored powers, he delves into finding out more. These threads, linked by an apparent suicide, eventually lead Carlos to Cardinal Baldi, to an American spy, and ultimately to Los Angeles, where Jennifer Narody unwittingly holds the key to the mystery that the Catholic Church, the U.S. Defense Department, and the journalist are each determined to decipher.--From publisher description.… (altro)

La dama azul
Javier Sierra

Several people at the same time are seeking out information on "bilocation" or physical projection of a person to another location. Seemed to be a spin on The Da Vinci Code, but it was hard to figure out where he was going with this: does he want to disprove appearances of the Virgin Mary, or prove there are aliens posing as angels in our midst, or show that there is a guiding power in our lives, or point out the messy politics in the Vatican? Author was pondering "synchronicity" and fate/destiny but I would term it rather a questioning the purpose of serendipity in our lives.
The ending was rather a cop out, as he dumped it all in our laps to make of it what we will.
There were few female characters and I didn't feel they were particularly realistic. None of the characters interested me much as people, because the whole focus was on the search not on personal growth.
Not going to keep this one. The main reason I finished it was mention of Robert Monroe & his development of Hemi-Sync recordings. Coincidentally I had purchased one of his CDs in early 2000's and wanted to see how he fit in this tale. ( )

Historical fiction based on truth. It's the story of the Lady in Blue, who appeared to the Native Americans in 1629-1633, a modern American woman of Native American descent on her mother's side who they call the Great Dreamer, & sees these events in her dreams, a Spanish journalist, & the involvement of the Vatican, & the intercession of angelic descendants. It's definitely NOT the DaVinci Code, but it stands on it's own, with a lot of plot twists & turns. Fascinating historical/religious fiction & well worth the read. So is this author's first book, The Secret Supper :) ( )

The story has a good plot but very confusing. A lot of characters that confuses me. A lot of changes in settings, such as in TIME and PLACE. There was a surprise towards the end that felt out of place for me. The story was disjointed and was not nicely translated. I think the author could have gone another path. ( )
