Another classic minimal nonsense Perry Mason. The final homely gather-round to Marple and Poirot is what the courtroom to Mason. And what a twist! Gardner truly has no time to hold your hand nor to tie up the book with anything beyond the basic bow.

No fuss, no muss. Perfect antidote to red-herringful mysteries.

Aside: I'm surprised that it's taken three Perry Masons for me to get to one that has a buxomy blonde in a bikini! It seems like such a stereotypical white hardboiled gruff 50s detective thing to be doing a rapid fire transatlantic broadcaster voice, saying stuff like hey now here dollface check out the gams on that dame etc. (

One of the better Perry Mason novels IMHO. Great characters, story line and a puzzle to solve involving the time kept by one of Paul Drake's operatives.
