Questa recensione è stata scritta per Recensori in anteprima di LibraryThing. The verbose narrative turned me off on the very first page. I totally lost interest. I rather read about a clear setting, with time and place described and therefore relatable or at least defined and easily imagined for characters to exist in that setting.Questa recensione è stata scritta per Recensori in anteprima di LibraryThing. I did not love this book and quit at page 100. I have multiple pages turned down where I was confused about things - on two different occasions the main character asks for red wine - once the waitress brings Sauvignon Blanc and the other time a Chenin Blanc, which was described as tasting of black currant and dark chocolate. So confusing, does the author not know anything about wine and if not, why get so specific? I also found it overly wordy, with confusing phrases like "an arid moisture", which I'm not sure how that even works? Not trying to be a smart ass, just seemed like the book could use a really good editor. Overall, at 100 pages, I did not particularly connect with the main character or care what happened to him so I stopped. Questa recensione è stata scritta per Recensori in anteprima di LibraryThing. Signatures by Lucas Alves was a bit of a struggle for me to read. The particular style of writing the author has felt much more suited to a screenplay, which is a form he has experience in, than to a novel. The descriptive passages seemed to dominate and I never felt invested in the character Landon. It felt like a slice of life novel which can be very good, but somehow it never felt consequential to me. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

There was too much detailed description of movements and it kept throwing me out of the reading.
I was also thrown by the formatting - no quotation marks, different font.
Maybe I will try again, but for now, it is an unfinished read ( )
