A fun rhyming book on the magical powers of good jazz. I liked the introduction which included a brief history and origin of jazz. Many famous names are mentioned throughout. The perfect book to introduce kids to jazz. I loved the illustrations as well. ( )

I like how information this book is starting from the introduction. I can see a musically inclined student loving this book and maybe using it as a reference for a research project. The information isn't overbearing or hard to understand so I think it would be suitable for younger audiences. I love the way the authors represented African Americans and their creativity. I think from reading this a student could look at todays music and see jazz's affect on it. ( )

I loved this book. It shows how jazz has the ability to uplift spirits within one night. The book brings its history by introducing characters who had a huge influence in the jazz music world. It brings excitement for all ages. Great illustrations that match the words of the book perfectly. ( )
