This is a good children's book on Bats. It is meant for the early reader to read it on their own. The print is nice and large and clear and the pictures of the bats are spectacular. There is no real story here just factual information on the different styles of bats. It is also somewhat political as it gives a point of view that bats are harmless. I don't really like that because Bats are wild animals and any wild animal can endanger a human being.

However, it does point out the benefits of bats and why we really should conserve them.

I do recommend this book for the young reader. ( )

This little book is pretty cool. It is a children's book really. But it offers pretty interesting little factoids on Bats. I love Bats. They are one of natures most misunderstood creatures. And there are many old wives tales about them. Yet they are critically important to keep our insect population under control.

I recommend this book if you have small children who like to see something "Cool". It is a good book for the young reader who is starting to learn to read. The ratio of pictures to words is good. The young reader will want to read the words in order to find out about the bats in the pictures and what they are doing. The words are in nice big bold print where the young reader can sound them out if they have issue. Some words, the author even gives a pronunciation key to go along with it. ( )

The book begins with an introduction to the topic, followed by facts about where bats live, what they eat, and how they handle the cold weather.
