Ik heb erg van dit boek genoten en heb zelfs een beetje moeten huilen aan het einde. Het idee is prachtig en ook mooi uitgewerkt in verschillende tijdlijnen. Cornwall van 1937 tot net na het einde van WO II - Londen 1985 tot 1988 - Zuid Australië 1995
1985: Max heeft al in zijn jeugd een terugkerende nachtmerrie, maar als die nachtmerrie op latere leeftijd terugkomt gaat hij op onderzoek uit. In zijn droom is hij op een slagveld uit WO II en probeert hij een gevallen kameraad en parachutist in veiligheid te brengen. Het is allemaal zo levensecht dat hij denkt dat hij over een ervaring van iemand anders gaat. Hij gaat praten met mensen die verstand hebben van dit soort dromen en ondergaat ook regressie therapie. Zijn onderzoek leidt hem naar Rupert Dash en zijn vrouw Florence Lightfoot. In een eerdere tijdlijn volgen we de romance tussen Rupert en Florence.
