I really like how Hornschemeier employs several different comic styles within the framework of the story. Departing from the realistic looking drawings of him visiting his parents, his childhood memories start out looking like pages out of the Sunday funnies, then more like comic books from the 50's for the memories from high school. Especially interesting is how he confronts his inner demons with rough sketches done in blue ink on plain white paper. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

In this autobiographical story within a story, the creator of a comic strip tale abandons his work temporarily to follow his father on a walk through the small town, recording the places--and events--that had a profound influence on his life as a child. If other comics are easy chairs, his works offers the pleasure, and the pain, of reclining on a psychiatrist's couch".
