Questa recensione è stata scritta per Recensori in anteprima di LibraryThing. I have mixed feelings about this book. It was hard for me to get into it initially and seemed really slow and repetitive for the first half. Like, I get it, you study on the first floor and the third floor and run into random people that you don't get along with for unknown reasons. I wanted to just shout at the main characters to pick a floor, sit down and actually get some work done!!! The main characters seemed to have issues with everyone they met at the elevator, but reasons seemed trivial and didn't really advance the plot. I also couldn't figure out WHY the main character stayed with his girlfriend, who had no redeeming qualities whatsoever. The other character's girlfriend could have been eliminated entirely, as she was merely a name and not truly a character with any personality or development throughout the book.
It wasn't until the second half that all of the coincidental meetings started to intertwine. At that point, the book could be read as somewhat of a comical farce, but it was a little too hard to believe how all of the events came together so perfectly.
The book also could have used better editing. I understand that some of it might be attributed to non-English as a primary language, but other mistakes were just simple editing errors.
Overall, the book was okay, but I don't see myself rushing to read others by this author anytime soon. With so many books out in the world, one has to choose wisely and read the ones that bring the most joy.nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
