This story had a nice pace and I liked the multiple points of view, it really brought everything together! It was a nice mystery read! Great for a cool Sunday afternoon read! ( )

This story is racing fast from the first chapter and doesn't slow down even during what you would think would be boring scenes, such as being trapped in one place.
A guard helps a woman who is awaiting trial for the murder of her husband to escape prison just to keep her locked up in a different type of cell. What is the reason he would risk his whole life for a stranger? What is he hoping for out of all of this?
Just when you think they are safe, new dangers reveal themselves and you start to question who you can trust.
I found the timelines a little off the mark, but the story was ultimately dark and gripping with shades of gaslighting, spousal abuse, and Stockholm syndrome.
Andiz tells a captivating story that will have you rooting for unexpected outcomes. ( )

A female prisoner and a male prison guard go on the run together and stay in an underground bunker. Soon the prisoner realizes she is being held captive and needs to figure out why she is being held. Lots of excitement and a good quick read. ( )

The Stranger’s Captive by Lelia Andiz is a slow, captivating story.

The author slowly spins the story as Magdalena and Kyle go on the run. The reader is hooked from the beginning and turns the pages faster and faster as the author starts letting us into the lives of Magdalena and Kyle. You think you know where the story is going, but the author throws in a few curves here and there keeping the reader on their toes.
