( )Questa recensione è stata scritta per Recensori in anteprima di LibraryThing. After reading Love at 20,000 Leagues, I have been anticipating the next fantasy resorts novel.
Spoiler alert: I absolutely loved this novel! The adventure, the romance, the turn of events! Brilliant!!
A Matter of Time follows the latest Bennett Systems productions - a time travelling resort. Walter Doyle is the man that made the time travelling machine possible hits a problem when they set off to the Wild West 1888 and the resort crashes down in Devils creek. Sadie the widow on the Ranch where they crash near by concocts a plan with Doyle - he pretends to be her fiancé and in turn she'll play host to the holiday makers - though she thinks they're government visitors from Washington. Teddy, Sadie’s son is a little inventor and quite clever. His character is endearing and very surprising in his actions and reasonings. I loved how Nicole and Jackson from Love at 20,000 Leagues are amongst the staff on the "ship" which I thought was an excellent addition to the "cast" of wonderful characters. Though not surprising as she is head of Bennett Systems, I did like how they both were part of the new cast. I also liked how the Watcher was gender fluid which in my opinion isn't a massive deal as all books should be inclusive but it was refreshing to see a character like them be included and I felt their role was important and not just one that ticked the exclusive box. I love Sadie and Wally, their charisma and chemistry oozed off the page and it was fun to read the twists and turns were great, A plot I thought was gonna be typical and straightforward turned into an adventure of ups and downs and had me guessing and exclaiming what?! in places. I loved the alternative POV from Sadie and Doyle, the story was great reading it from both sides, it really made the storyline feel full and complete. I felt that ending was amazing and I really enjoyed the closure of it! Though the epilogue made me excited 1) for what might happen next and 2) There's going to be a book 3!! It strongly points that way!! nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

Arizona circa 1888 may be a fun place to visit, but the Time Capsule Fantasy Resort didn't mean to crash land there. It's up to Walter Doyle, inventor of the new technology, to find and repair the missing cloaking device without altering the timeline. Easier said than done when he runs into a real-life, real-sexy Annie Oakley named Sadie. From the moment she points her shotgun at him, he's smitten. All Sadie Rogers wants is to be left alone to mind her ranch and her son, something the men in town wouldn't be keen on if they found out her husband was dead. Keeping a low profile gets more complicated when the handsome Wally shows up on a hush-hush mission from Washington. When his top-secret contraption kills a man on Sadie's property, she hides the evidence. Though, she might be convinced to turn the thing over in exchange for Wally posing as her new fiancé to help save her ranch? With sabotage afoot and a town full of corrupt cowboys and nosy neighbors, can Wally and Sadie find a way to solve both their problems? Maybe. But they'll create an even bigger one while trying-how to hold on to love that transcends time itself. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
