The writing is fine but unfortunately it's not that funny. It seems to be more about casual observations by a person that lived there.

Sorry, but I did not find this book to be at all enjoyable or educational. Rather mean-spirited and rude, actually. I cannot recommend it. I received the book in a giveaway from LibraryThing. ( )

A great book, enjoyed it immensley

I always feel bad when I have to write a negative review on a work by a hopeful author. This "book" purports to tell humorous anecdotes but in truth, the pieces are not funny at all. The book does not say anything that a casual traveler to France or even someone who has a little bit of knowledge of French food and customs would not know. ( )

I loved this book!

It was a good, fast read of someone who obviously loves his subject but also recognizes all of its flaws and absurdities. And loves them too.

I learned a lot and enjoyed the read. ( )
