This was on my parent's bookshelf and I regularly pulled it down and read it. I have no idea why, but then, I was a strange child. I enjoyed this book. Full of random bits of fact, strange histories and events, and biographies of odd people, it gave me a different perspective on many things. I would recommend this book for anyone who enjoys trivia or strange information, as well as a teacher or student interested in a different few of things. ( )

Probably the single most fascinating treasure trove of information I have ever encountered. Much of what is presented here tells a slightly different story than the standard history textbooks, that is what makes this book so essential. ( )
