This work provides a lucid interpretation of the complex law relating to firearms. The first part reproduces each of the statutes of the Firearms Act, and the 1986 Act incorporates the various alterations introduced by later legislation. Each section concludes with notes and brief observations referring the reader to a fuller discussion later in the text. The second section contains a commentary on the most discussed Sections of the Acts followed by rlevant Scottish, English and Northern Irish cases in precis form. Emphasis is placed upon the crimminal provisions of Part 1 of the 1986 Act, and the extensive administrative case law dealing with the revocation or refusal of firearms and shotgun certificates (and subsequent appeals) are considered. Tables of statutes and cases are included.
