Laura Willingham has done it again! Lilly and her parents are filled with thoughtfulness and caring characteristics. Lilly is also creative and determined to make the most out of a terrible situation. I love the quote, "Home is where you make it." I would love to have a friend like Lily.

I didn’t really understand the story and I’m sorry to say that. Books without text are open to interpretation by the reader which is fine, but I didn’t feel the illustrations told a recognizable story.

Third in the series. This book is a good reminder that family and working together is a must, and that home is where you make it be. Overall wholesome storyline for young audiences, but some additional context during the visitors stay would have been appreciated. Simple and colorful illustrations for young audiences as well. ( )

FYI - When I put the book on my kindle - the text did not show up.

Ummm... Not exactly my cup of tea. The story has a nice lesson about helping others out even if it troubles you, however, I felt the story lacked a bit. Despite the predicament in the book, the storm didn't seem too bad and the chick could do many things outside.

The drawings had a sort of multi-media whisper to them with different types of shading. I liked this. I would have loved it if some parts of the pictures, such as some of the fabrics or different textures, would have been a photo, for example. ( )
