A little girl says goodbye to Mommy, who leaves on a work trip, and spends the week at home with Mama. They do some special things, like watch a movie outside, and have some video calls, but the girl still misses Mommy "as deep as a scuba diver down in the ocean and as high as an astronaut up in the sky." When Mommy finally returns home, the daughter isn't quite ready for kisses, but finds her place again in the middle of a hug. Mama presents White, with purple/pink hair and tattoos, and Mommy and the little girl appear Black, with curly hair. The illustrations are full of lovely details, from houseplants to fruit to heart-shaped earrings. ( )
