I love a great contemporary romance book with a good amount of humour. Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez was just that! What happens when a big town doctor falls in love with a small town carpenter? It's like a Hallmark movie but better! And in book form!

Alexis Montgomery is an emergency room doctor who comes from a very well-known family of doctors. She isn't meeting their expectations, but she is still one incredible human. On her way back from a funeral, her car decides to wind up in a ditch. Along comes a handsome man named Daniel Grant who helps her on her way. And by on her way, I mean into his bed before going on her way. These two start to develop feelings and have an emotional roller coaster of fun, friendship, and romance. The country boy meets city girl trope is here, and BOY is it great! There's drama in knowing her family doesn't approve, but you just want them to end up together. It's like a fairy tale in real life!

This book is fun, fast paced, and really engaging. I didn't want to put it down, but knew I had to go to sleep at some point. There's laughs and cries, smiles and pouts, and a cute baby goat! I felt my heart melt and at other times I wanted to beat the crap out of some of the characters. Abby Jimenez does an excellent job of inputting a lot of heart and character development into this book. I will absolutely be picking up more books by this author, and there's even a sequel with Alexis' best friend named Bri getting her time to shine! I'm thrilled!

Abby Jimenez is now my favourite contemporary author.
This one wasn’t my fave because of the Insta love/ sex on the first date. I need slow burn and a build up (like yours truly which was a 5 star).
I find her books extremely relatable (anybody want a peanut?!) and the men are pretty much perfect dudes whilst the women try to sabotage the healthy relationships due to previous trauma, which is also common. I’m not a big fan of the medical jobs but I’ll definitely read anything she writes.

Abby Jimenez does it again with her expert prose that will leave your heart rendered.

Abusive relationships can take on many forms that leave internal marks on a victim and Jimenez did a brilliant job at describing these signs of abuse…especially while interweaving a new healthy love connection.

When 37 year old upper elite class Dr Alexis Montgomary hits a ditch swerving from a raccoon she would have never guessed her life would be forever flipped upside down when a local 28yo boy towed her car out.

Their worlds are so far apart as he is MD 2020 and she is Cristal. Alexis convinces herself that it is only a fling and she never lets Daniel into her world as her Dad would never accept him into their world.

My heart was almost ripped out of my chest as I could feel every emotion the characters were going through.
Checking my HR while reading it confirms the roller coaster of emotions I was feeling and that my friends is when you know without a doubt you have hit a jackpot of books to read! ( )

I LOVED this. The journey that both of these characters go on to not only come to accept the love they have for each other but also the love they deserve for themselves is heartbreaking and beautiful. (Don’t worry we do get an HEA!)

This is a story of a woman who has to break free of so many different kinds of molds and expectations and traps in order to be truly happy. Emotional abuse from her family and ex bf. Generational work expectations. Societal / money status expectations. So many things are standing in the way of her happiness and it’s such an emotional yet worthwhile journey to see her learning to leave each one behind as it stops holding power over her. Highly recommend.
