Pretty interesting fantasy book that my 14 yr old loved

I see the author is relatively new to writing. However, I do believe this book makes her seem much more established. I wasn't a hug fan of the story, but she does a good job with descriptions without going too in-depth or leaving you wanting more. It's enough to keep the story flowing. Overall, not bad. It's an easy read. (

I wouldn't complain if there was more character development, because the characters are quite great! I enjoyed this world, and I'm not usually into books featuring magic (unless it's the Daevabad Trilogy) and was sorry to see the end of the story. (

What a heartachingly beautiful story. Badriya is a gorgeously complicated character. Broken and miserable, but still finding friendship, love, and family - in a broken little way. The cast of characters range the spectrum from cruel to spiteful to pitiful to endearing.
It’s gorgeous. I loved it.
