The Wedding Crasher and the Cowboy is one of those light, engaging reads that are perfect for a weekend day where you can sit with a mug of hot cocoa or tea and just let the afternoon fly by. Which is rather what I did. And it made for a wonderfully entertaining time when I otherwise might have been doing oh – the laundry or vacuuming. I would ALWAYS rather be reading. Wedding crashing is not something that Kennedy set out to do buy her ex called her and asked her to be there so how could she not? The problem is the party is at the ranch of a college friend and he knows she doesn’t belong. She can stay hidden long enough to find out what her ex wants, right? Wrong! After she is found she has to try hard to explain herself and what follows is the growing attraction between well, the wedding crasher and the cowboy. It’s a fast and fun read with the requisite attractive characters that take you away from the everyday and off into a world of money, romance and in this case cowboy boots. I enjoyed my time crashing this wedding and the ensuing romance. It truly was a perfect way to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon. Hot chocolate notwithstanding. It's always fun to read a good relaxing romance story. This one was an enemy to lovers story with a bit more depth than a boy meets girl story and they live happily ever after story. Kennedy received a phone call from an ex-boyfriend from his bachelor party. He tells her that he isn't sure he should get married. Due to their long time friendship, she and her bff crash the wedding. Who does she meet at the wedding but her old college nemesis. Maverick and Kennedy competed in college for top honors and really disliked each other. She was not happy when she found out that he was part of the family that was hosting the destination wedding. He is still recovering from a girlfriend's death several years earlier and has no intention of falling in love especially with Kennedy. She is an Emergency Department doctor who is hoping for a new job in Boston to get away from her family. Kennedy is a real city girl who has no desire to spend time on a ranch but the more Maverick shows her the joys of country living, the more she starts to love being in the country. Will their dislike of each other turn to love and will they have a happily ever after ending? Along with the cute love story between Kennedy and Maverick, the book also deals with grief, family issues and health care. While they are at the ranch, Kennedy is asked by the small town doctor to help him on a very busy day and she really enjoys getting to know some of the townspeople. Since it's a small town and everyone is interested in everyone else's business, she quickly becomes known by the people in town. This feel-good romance is a great book to read when you just want to relax. It's fun and romantic. The secondary characters are also well done and I can see (and hope to see) some of them in their own books in the future - especially Kennedy's BFF Andrew. Thanks to the publisher for a copy of this book to read and review. All opinions are my own. i read this a couple weeks back and forgot to review, i hate when i do that... and now am trying to catch up and do all my reviews and I have a couple of them to do. So .Kennedy gets a drunk call from her ex a couple days from his wedding and he has some doubts about his wedding and she decides to go and find out if he needs help getting out of wedding or convincing that she is the one. While there she runs into her medical school nemesis, Maverick who unbeknownst to her apparently to her had something of a thing for her, but now he is grieiving the lost of his fiance but can't help the attraction that he has for Kennedy. They of course act on this attraction but a misunderstanding happens and Kennedy runs since she also has some baggage, which I kind of wish we had more info on besides just mentioning. but anyway we supposedly get a hea. It was ok .wish we had more umpf rcvd an ARC at no cost to author...(netgalley) voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and opinions nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

Kennedy Martin is shocked when her ex calls days before his wedding, expressing serious second thoughts. Doesn't he see his fiancee's actually the glaze to his doughnut? Now she's got no choice but to crash his wedding and convince the man he's with the right woman. Instead, she crashes into the absolute last man she ever wanted to see: Maverick Owens, her old college nemesis. Maverick is still as awful, infuriating, and just The Worst as ever-even if he looks way too sexy in his cowboy hat. And of course he's convinced she's actually at the seaside ranch to ruin the wedding. Now the only way to get some face time with the groom and save this marriage is to participate in all sorts of pre-wedding events . . . with Maverick. Stuck on a canoe, making small-talk at cocktail hour, and even a hoedown with her worst enemy? This just might be the longest week of her life . . . Contains mature themes. Cons: I will admit that I almost DNF'd this book after the first 15% or so. It lined up every Hallmark movie cliche and trope to the point of eye rolling (on my part). Also, every character had, not only a unique name, but also a unique nickname (again, eye roll). And 2 typos ("get if off!", and Lee instead of Leah (unless this is another nickname?)).
However,
Pros: Once you get past the set-up of the story, the character development sucks you in and you fall in love with all the characters. I love that it wasn't all about the two main characters, the best friend, her sister and his brother are all such fun characters and I would love to see more from them in future books??
I also really enjoyed the change in timelines and the letters, although I think this could have been better with a bit more tension to draw the reader to find out what happens next. There isn't much plot other than the love story itself but it was very cute and the character development was delightful!
