I always know that I'm going to go on a journey when I read something from this author. Her stories are intense and make me realize that I don't live in a fairy tale. There are always elements of truth to the backstory and this book was no different. Anya and Colts story as brutal as it was was still powerful. They truly were survivors. I think that's what drew me to the story. They survived and overcame. They were the same but different.
The ending felt a bit rushed to me with how everything was tied up. Otherwise, this would have ranked higher. The EOBS was insightful as always and again one of my favorite parts of the story. I like seeing how her mind works.
For those wondering if this is dark, the answer is not in the usual way. The backstory is and the subject matter but not the love story that came between to amazing souls. (
