37 months - O decided that June was a great month for reading Halloween books so this is one of 24 we borrowed from the library. This is a fabulous book. It's not really scary it's in fact quite funny with a great fun rhyme to it. I'd love to own this one for our collection... we'll see. ( )

I had mixed feelings about this book after reading it. I liked the book because it's funny because it dealt with a skeleton dressing up in your clothes for warmth but also a bit creepy. It was creepy because reading this to children i feel like they would be a bit creeped out by the way the skeleton looks like in the picture and the way the skeleton slows creeps up the stairs to get into the boy's room. I didn't really like this book too much because I felt like it just dragged on a little bit too long for me and when he finally made it into the room all he needed from the boy were some clothes to cover up in. That was it. I expected something different but I feel like that's a good way to end a story for a child. I found the ending a bit funny when the boy says "He'll be quiet, quiet, quiet, in my bedroom slipper bears." That made me chuckle because it's a skeleton with slippers that look like bears, now that's pretty funny. The message of this book to me is that not everything is what it seems. The boy thought the skeleton was up to no good, or that the skeleton was after him, but in reality all the skeleton wanted was some clothes so he couldn't be cold anymore. ( )

This book is about a young boy who heard a skeleton knocking on his window, fightened as any other child would be he hopped back into bed and covered up with all of his blankets and pillows. As the skeleton started walking up the stairs towards his room he could hear the skeletons bare bones clicking on the stairs. Slowly the skeleton arrived to his door and blew through the door to find a young boy covered in his covers in with fear on his face. The Skeleton went through all of the boys clothes, just trying to find something to wear anything, anything to keep the skeleton become not so bare. Eventually the skeleton found it's clothes and walked out the front door to show off his new clothes.
This was a very cute story for children to read. It has a great concept in which to not be afraid of things at night, you never know what they might be but they might be looking for something as simple as clothing.

The story of a little boy who gets a visit from a skeleton in the middle of the night. He was at first scared of the skeleton until he realized he just wanted to borrow some clothes to cover his bones. ( )

This book had a few clever rhymes.Once the skeleton put on an assortment of colorful clothes he was more likable. ( )
