"L'Amant" de Marguerite Duras, publié en 1984, est un roman semi-autobiographique qui se déroule dans le Vietnam colonial français des années 1920. L'histoire suit la liaison illicite et passionnée entre une jeune fille française issue d'une famille en difficulté financière et un riche amant chinois plus âgé. La protagoniste anonyme, appelée simplement "la fille", est issue d'une famille dysfonctionnelle, et sa relation avec l'amant est marquée par les tabous sociaux, les différences culturelles et les divisions brutales de la société coloniale. Il motivo principale è uno, che poi si porta dietro a catena tutti gli altri: lo stile. Non rientra assolutamente nei miei gusti perché è confuso e frammentario, sembra più uno sfogo personale che un' opera rivolta ad un pubblico. C'è talmente tanta urgenza di comunicare che risulta tutto sfocato e poco approfondito, a cominciare dai personaggi che non sono tridimensionali ma più che altro casse di risonanza per le emozioni della protagonista. Della trama poi non parliamo neanche, è pressoché inesistente. Perfino l'ambientazione che potenzialmente poteva essere molto pittoresca si perde tra voli pindarici ed elucubrazioni.
Poco altro da dire se non che mi rendo conto oggettivamente del fatto che non sia un libro di bassa qualità e che a molti una scrittura così particolare possa intrigare, ma personalmente non ho apprezzato nulla se non la brevità . ( )
