Bon Voyage to Murder is another of the creative, amusingly fun mysteries by C.S. McDonald. In this episode, Fiona's boyfriend, Detective Nathan Landry, under duress, accompanies her on a Caribbean cruise. What began as a humdrum experience soon became more interesting. Bodies were ending up dead. His services were soon called on by the distraught captain.
The usual fast-paced energy and "twists", created by the author, are within these pages. The scenes steadily change as does the puzzlement of "who did it". There is a surprize ending in this episode.
I listened to the audiobook.
Maren Swenson Waxenberg was the Narrator. she did a very good job in her performance and stayed in character "voice" consistently. However, her "voice" for Fiona" is slightly annoying.
She sounds like an older lady and not like the young woman she portrays. Other than that, the audio is perfect.
I offer a Four and a Half Stars rating, due to the main character's voice depiction. Otherwise, it deems a Five Stars rating for the book.
*This audiobook was gifted me with no pressure for a positive review. This is my honest review. ( )

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

I was honored to read book one in A Fiona Quinn Mystery series and I couldn't wait to snuggle up in another cozy mystery where I know Fiona would be on her deceive hunt. That girl can smell trouble anywhere. Well, this time Fiona and Nathan's cruise is a cruise gone bad from the start. In the very beginning there is what is thought to be an attempted murder and we know Fiona can't let this one go, fun cruise or not. So here goes her sleuthing skills, and she and Nathan put their heads together and start checking out what is happening and before they know it, the cruise gone bad it done with! I love this sweet cozy mystery just as much as the first Fiona Mystery I read. Though it's a series you can certainly read these as a stand alone, but I would like to eventually read them in order because I think it would be more fun.

This time I listen to this one, and the narration by Maren Swenson Waxenberg was such a wonderful pleasant experience. I'm not a huge fan of audio books, they are slowly growing on me, and I am finding out that it is the person doing the narration that makes the audio book. I could listen to Waxenberg for hours at a time and not get tired. I do have another Fiona Cozy Mystery review coming up in a couple of weeks so I hope you will check it out. If you love yourself a good cozy mystery, only now we can't say by the fire unless we go outside in the heat, this is an amazing choice for you.

A special thanks to the author/publisher for a copy of this book. I am not required to write a positive review, the opinions here are mine alone. I am disclosing this with my review in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255. ( )

This is the first book I have read in this series. So I had not established a relationship with Fiona and Nathan yet, I was able to jump right into this book with no issues. It felt like I had known Fiona and Nathan for a long time.

I listened to the audio version of this book. The narrator Maren Swenson Waxenberg did a very good job of bringing this story to life. All of the different characters did have a different voice. You could tell the male from the female characters. I wanted to point this out because some narrators don't do enough to really separate the voices that they kind of seem similar.

Talk about a intriguing cruise. There is no relaxing on this cruise with dueling enemies, Dusty and Cassidy on board. When one of them goes missing it is up to Fiona and Nathan to solve the case. Cozy mystery readers will enjoy this book. There is no gore or blood just a fun story with engaging characters. ( )

I listened to this book and really enjoyed the characters and the mystery. The narrator did a wonderful job on the characters voices. I got to know who was who. It was fun to learn a little bit about some of the behind the scenes of a cruise ship and the people that go on them. I loved learning who committed the murder. I received a copy of this audiobook from ireadbooktour for an honest opinion that I gave of my own free will. ( )
