Thoughts: This was a good continuation of this series. I continue to enjoy the world and the characters; a lot of my complaints about earlier books in the series have dwindled as the series has continued. This is a fun and quick urban fantasy read and I have been enjoying the series as a whole.
In this book Bree ends up taking on some undead and some zombies and finds out it all ties into her past. It was a well done mystery, had a lot of action, and I continue to enjoy Bree’s strange and non-human collection of family and friends. Not only is there a good smaller story that gets wrapped up herez, but some of the larger questions around Bree’s past are starting to be answered as well.
I love the Crash/Bree dynamic but was a bit frustrated by how they continue to take one step forward and two steps back. Enough with Crash’s mysteries...it’s time for them to start trusting each other more. I am finding this really repetitive from book to book and want some progress and resolution. That being said, there are some new characters introduced in this installment that I really, really enjoyed...so I am looking forward to more of those new characters as well.
My Summary (4/5): Overall this was a fun addition to the series and I continue to enjoy this world and these characters. I like that these books address one main mystery in each book but have a broader story as well. The whole Crash/Bree thing needs to go somewhere soon because it’s been pretty frustrating and repetitive...so hopefully the next book will address that. I would recommend this if you enjoy well done urban fantasy series that feature a lot of paranormal types of creatures and are fast-paced. I am excited to see what the next book holds! ( )
