"This book contains detailed descriptions of the origin, habitat, uses, planting and propogation of over 300 species, both native to New Zealand and exotic introductions. The emphasis is on trees in a "working environment", and the book is written especially for farmers and other rural dwellers though planners and people with responsibilities towards open spaces such as golf courses, parks and school sports grounds will find much that is of use. Although the authors concentrate on best land use with trees being grown for shelter, shade, and timber, they insist that trees be seen as part of the total landdscape, making a positive contribution to a quality environment which may be appreciated by all ..." -- Inside front cover.… (altro)
