Flash Point by Luna Joya is the fifth book in "The Legacy" series. I have not read the pervious four book but as I discovered, this series is about a different sister so can be read easily without needing to read all previous books.

This book is about Mina. She is a fire elemental, psychic, Legacy witch and magical asset for an FBI paranormal task. Josh is a witch hunter and pyro expert and sparks ignite from the beginning with these two.

I particularly enjoyed the action and the main characters threading the fine line between friends and lovers. The lore was fascinating and I enjoyed reading both the paranormal aspects and the romance. Both done really well and not overshadowing one another. I'm definitely going back to read the first 4 books as it was so well written I want to see what the other sisters get up to in their books ( )

This story involves Mina, a fire elemental witch, and Josh, her best friend, sorta mma fighter and secret witch hunter for The Order. This was probably not the best book to read as an entry into the series as there is quite a lot of background and characters which are referenced but not really explained except in broad strokes.

You hear a lot from the inner dialog of both Mina and Josh which I enjoyed. Josh keeps a lot of secrets but it turns out the most extreme (and interesting) secrets are the ones about himself that he has no knowledge of.

This book was basically written like a young adult romance/supernatural novel except for the intimate scenes which were much more mature romance novel fodder. My only real issue with the story is that the action scenes seemed muddled and not well defined. This may have been due to the amount of characters the author was trying to work in all at once. Overall I liked the story despite not being able to keep the overwhelming plethora of side characters straight. ( )
