I am loving this cookbook, from beginning to end, I find something I want to make. Even the last recipe, Zucchini Dressing, still some in the garden! This wonderful collection by one of my favorite authors, Wanda E. Brunstetter and her Amish friends. This beautifully illustrated book contains almost 200 recipes from Amish kitchens. Before we begin the recipes we are given a glimpse into the Anabaptist History, then we had into the Table of Contents. You will be busy for awhile dreaming of which to make first, and I have tried a few, and was not disappointed! I received this book through the Publisher Barbour, and was not required to give a positive review. 5 stars, My new favorite recipe book WANDA E. BRUNSTETTER'S AMISH FRIENDS BAKING COOKBOOK By Wanda E. Brunstetter Published by Barbour Publishing This lovely spiral-bound cookbook combines some of my most favorite things like books by Wanda Brunstetter because you know she only writes wholesome, loveable, interesting books; Amish recipes because they are the best kinds of recipes tasty, easy enough for anyone to master; Baking, my favorite kitchen activity. I have already made the AMISH FRIENDSHIP BREAD. My family enjoys this bread. We make the recipe a little easier for us and a lot more fun for any children helping out. We put the initial starter into a 1-gallon zipper bag. Much less messy for mixing and stirring in the new ingredients. Everyone likes smushing the bag to corporate the ingredients together. If you make this recipe much, you'll find out if your friends really like the bread or if they'd like to pass. I don't bother my friends with starter bags, which I put into sandwich-sized zipper bags, I simply put them in a tub into the freezer. Saving them for our family. I sometimes share a loaf of Amish Friendship Bread, but don't offer unless they request the starter. I look forward to making the POTATO SOURDOUGH BUNS. The recipe calls for 12 ounces of potatoes, cooked, and mashed. I am more comfortable with cup measuring, in cooking. Here's what I've researched, 12 oz of potatoes is equal to about 2 medium potatoes when mashed equals about 1 cup. I've already written the conversion notes into my copy. We've made the TEXAS SHEET CAKE, delicious and easy to prepare. I could go on and on, all of the recipes look delicious. We look forward to trying nearly every recipe. Much gratitude to #BarbourPublishing @BarbourPublishing #WandaEBrunstetter @WandaEBrunstetter for the complimentary copy of #WandaEBrunstettersAmishFriendsBakingCookbook I was under no obligation to post a review. I love Amish food and desserts are just wonderful so I am looking forward to some wonderful baked goods. The book contains cookies, bars ,cakes, desserts, pies, pastries, quick breads, and yeast breads. The recipes have delicious looking pictures to help you decide what you want to make. She has added some nice scriptures on many of the pages and some history on the Anabaptists. The book has some beautiful photos as well. I've already tried a delicious pie recipe submitted by an Amish cook from Indiana, and I look forward to the other tasty recipes waiting inside the cover. Wanda E. Brunstetter's Amish Friends Baking Cookbook is a wonderful addition to this series, and it would be a great gift for Christmas or that new bride who is learning to cook. Just don't forget to get a copy for yourself!
