I didn't much care for Wiederman's narration, which made me resort to following along or rereading certain sections in my Kindle edition in order to understand what was happening. Oh well, it was free so nothing lost! These eight tales trace the activities of Horne Fisher, the man who knew too much. A member of a wealthy and socially prominent family. Fisher is extraordinary well acquainted with the ways of the rich and powerful (in fact, he knows too much about them). A keen mind and powerful deductive gifts make Fisher a natural sleuth, and he conducts his investigations of crimes committed on the great country estates of the aristocracy with the able assistance of his friend and confidant, the writer Harold March. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

HTML: The Man Who Knew Too Much is a collection of short stories by British writer Gilbert K. Chesterton, featuring his detective Horne Fisher. From the upper-classes himself, Fisher has a unique insight into political powerâ??a position which complicates his investigations when they approach the higher levels of corrupt government. Chesterton's witty, paradoxical work, published in 1922, gives an interesting view of the pre-Great War era. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
