When Huckle mishears the name of the new kid in school as Bully Dog instead of Billy, he's afraid of him. All day Huckle tries to be nice to Billy Dog but when he tries to something always goes wrong. Huckle thinks Billy is mean and Billy is mean. But once Huckle gets to know Billy, he discovers that being nice, he can make a new friend. This book would be great for elementary school age children. It could be used to discuss not judging others.

This book is very cute for young readers. It is about the first day of school for a new student. There are several misunderstandings throughout the day which lead some of the students to believe that the new student is mean. Once everything is cleared up, however, the old students and the new student quickly become friends. They realized that they had the wrong idea about the other and worked to put the past behind them. Also, they live very close to one another, so they became close friends and neighbors all at once. This book could be used for bibliotherapy, or to welcome a new student to the classroom.

It's Billy Dogs first day at school in Busytown. When the students hear they are getting a new classmate and they thought his name was Bully Dog. The children already have the idea that he is mean because of his name. Billy's first day Huckle accidentally does some stuff to Billy and is scared. Billy thinks Huckle is just mean. On their way home they talk and realize that what both thought were wrong. This is a great book for children moving to new schools to read. This is a book for third to fifth grade students.

I think that this book is great for children because everyone has bad days and this shows them how they can deal with a bad day. It shows them how Billy Dog dealt with his bad day and that helps children to see that they can also overcome bad days just like Billy Dog did. The pictures in this book are also wonderful!
