This predictable picture book tells another curious story about Curious George and the man with the yellow hat. The Man in the Yellow Hat takes Curious George out to a baseball game. A woman with a big camera was filming the crowd on the big screen and George was curious about how it would feel like to see him on the big screen so he stole the big camera and found this lost boy. He filmed the long boy on the big screen and the lost boy was found. The illustrations are neat and the text is a small amount on each page, which makes it easy to read for beginner readers. A teacher can use this book for small group or can put the book in the children's library for the children to read for fun. ( )

Curious George at the baseball game is about a monkey who is very interested in baseball. As he is sitting on the bench at the game watching the players and coaches on the field, he thinks he has gotten the hang of the signs. He starts doing the signs himself and the player on the base follows George's signs! The player is then tagged out! The whole team is so mad at George and they made him leave. When George was wondering the streets he found a lost boy. He wanted to help this little boy, and so he did. He brought the little boy back to his dad. This is a cute book for children because even though baseball wasn't George's thing, he found something else he was good at, helping loss children find their parents! The illustrations in this children's book are very colorful! ( )

CURIOUS GEORGE AT THE BASEBALL GAME is one of many picture books from a series, written by H.A. Rey, about a curious little monkey. In this particular story, the man in the yellow hat takes George to a Mudville Miners baseball game. George gets to sit and watch the game in the dugout with the team. That is, until he begins making hand motions like the first base coach and messes up one of the players. After that incident, Curious George and the man watch the rest of the game from the stadium seats. But here, too, George finds mischief by annoying the camerawomen. While hiding from the woman, who chased him out of the stadium, George happens to find a lost little boy. With George's help, the boy is reunited with his father. This is a fun little story with easy-to-read text that would be good for beginning readers. The illustrations are cute, simple, colored sketches that essentially depict what is being stated in the text, while adding more emotions to the characters. I think this would be fun book to read aloud in the classroom. As an activity after the reading, I would have students write their own scenario of George at the baseball game, depicting another way in which his curiosity may get him in trouble but works out in the end. Curious George has been around for a very long time. Many of Curious George's books are well known. In this adventure of Curious George, he goes to a baseball game. Curious George is having fun, and watches the pictures and players use signals. Curious George thinks it looks fun and makes the signals himself. A player on base sees Curious George making these signals and gets distracted, then gets tagged out. Everyone gets made at Curious George, and he has to leave. Soon, he finds a boy who is lost, but helps him find his dad, and then everyone is so thankful for Curious George.
I think this early reader book sends the message if not everything is what is seems, or works out as it many seem. Curious George messed up by distracting the player, but in the end, everything worked out just fine. ( )
