Note: I accessed a digital review copy of this book through Edelweiss. ( ) Eight-year-old Hannah is excited when Ramadan finally started, but her grandfather told her she was still too young to participate in the holy month of fasting. He explains to her that there are other ways for her to celebrate though, such as helping to make the world a better place by doing things for others. She does what she can, but is disappointed that no one seems to know about her good deeds. Her grandfather explains to her that “the best superheroes work in secret, don’t they?” He also pointed out that if she helped others out of love, then she did in fact help make the world a better place, even if it wasn’t better known. Animation-style illustrations by Aaliya Jaleel are kid-friendly and colorful. Evaluation: The author makes the point that wanting recognition for good deeds isn’t part of the spirit of Ramadan. I’m not sure however the author convinced Hannah, or young readers (recommended age is 4 and over), what was wrong with conditioning help on receiving praise in return. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
