This book simultaneously made my heart hurt for what the characters are going through, but also made me want to bash the characters over the head with a heavy book. I loved it. ( )

This isn't overly exciting but it's addictive.
"Are you well?" 🥰
The cave scene!
I'm so overjoyed my heart is bursting! I felt so much in this book.

Hermes is loyal to a fault, whitty, and my favorite character.
Wow. Talk about a cliffhanger, leaving you craving for more!
I have seen how the author has evolved in her writing. Not only has her writing grown but the characters have grown as well. She's figured out how to emotionally grasp her readers.
More spice for sure. Hades and persephone experimented with one another, diving into different fantasies and discovering them together. Like every other chapter. Action scenes are not very detailed and summarized. Certain points were confusing and I honestly thought I missed a page a couple of times because of the lack of information. Persephone was learning so much about herself and her magic. She and Hades were learning about each other and their connection, their love defiant and powerful. There are still so many unanswered questions. I'd like the 4th book now please.

Below are my SPOILER thoughts and reactions:

Once again, not too exciting but so far this is better than A Touch of Ruin. There are a lot more intimate scenes as Hades and Persephone are exploring each other and worship each other. I really love that she's more accepting of having a role in the Underworld. She's learning so much more about her magic and it's cool that she can heal now. She's also learning so much more about each of the Gods.
I feel like hecate is darker than she appears.
Oh hell no. Zeus can shove his "separation".

Omg they're married! AHHHH!!! 🥰😍❤️🎊 such a happy moment. This was needed.
Gods, persephone is a badass!
He released the titans, olympians are divided, persephone killed demeter, and Hades is trapped... w.t.f. ( )

Didn't like this one as much as the second. A lot happened and it felt very rushed, especially at the end. But I did enjoy the vibrant characterizations and seeing Persephone come into her power! Also the spice was *chef's kiss*. I'm just angry I can't read the fourth book until next year. ( )

Being a fan of this author some might say I'm bias but it is everything I thought it would be and more! Amazingly well written. Easy to understand with my dyslexic brain! The plot progression was slow but well worth it! Hades and Persephone's love male my heart happy! ( )

These covers are still beautiful.

~Book 4, A Touch of Chaos, is set to be released in May of 2022 at the time of reading~

Oh well, there goes the neighborhood. More bonehead things Persephone does. She has gone out on her own to start a blog/online media presence called The Advocate for those mortals who've been wronged by the Gods. She's officially engaged to marry Hades and the public has some opinions on that. Her friends are scattered after the tragedy in book 2.

Persephone has gotten herself into lots of trouble so far. And she doesn't seem to learn much of anything after. There's lots of back and forth and miscommunication or no communication in this book.

The mortal rebellion has started to really come to the forefront and I'm more excited about that than anything else. I don't care if Hades and Persephone get married or not, I don't feel for these characters.

The sex scenes have increased in quantity from book 1 to 3 but quantity doesn't equal quality. They are lust-filled and hot and bothered enough for the backseat but not melt your loincloth off spicy. This was sort of sold on IG/BookTok as a "5/5 spicy romance" and I'm asking where and to whom? I'd give this maybe 3/5 because there were some better moments but that's it.

I want to see where the cliffhanger end takes the story with the upcoming war more than anything else. I may forget to read the next book since it's over a year away.

~Checking the author's website on 06 June 2021, there's no mention of book 4 now ~

Recommended for readers 18 because there's sex in it and those who have a basic knowledge of Greek mythology. Reading the other two books is helpful.

To the best Daddy in the whole, wide world.

Before you died, I got to tell you about all sorts of amazing things
that were happening to me. We were FaceTiming and you smiled
and said, "I am so proud." Not long after, you'd test positive for
COVID. I will always be thankful for our final call. I remember
that you didn't feel good, and I didn't want to keep you long,
but I wanted you to know I loved you—and that was our whole
conversation. I miss you, I love you—over and over again.

The next morning, you crashed and went on the vent.

When I saw you in the hospital, I knew it was goodbye.
You were struggling and yet, when I took your hand,
you opened your beautiful eyes and smiled at me. The
next time I saw you, I was picking up your ashes.

I'd give anything to hug you again, to hear your voice and
your laugh. To receive a funny text message out of the
blue, to rub your bald head and lean on your shoulder, but
I know you're still with me and that you are so proud.
I owe my perseverance to you—the person who always
believed in what everyone else thought was impossible.

REST IN PEACE
