This is the lowest rating I have given one of the books in this series.
The flow and pace is fantastic.
The mystery and suspense is pretty much spot on.
The darkness and the erotic adult sex scenes and beyond steamy.

So, why rate it the lowest of all the books in this series?
Well, a couple of reasons.

For the first time we have a full on Cliffhanger in this series. Usually whatever 'Bad Guy' criminal, mystery and suspense that is the plot of the story has it's own conclusion.
That didn't happen in this one. The suspense of Who & Why of the Bad Guys is continued to the next and final book of this series
The above is my biggest reason for the lower rating.
I also felt that Tomas took to long to come to the correct conclusions.
I never knew he could be so Ruthless! and massively Stubborn!!

Anyway, I really did love the story. I loved Rylee, Tomas and their story.
Though I am left scratching my head as to why [a:Pam Godwin|6474204|Pam Godwin|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1545404751p2/6474204.jpg] wrote Rylee 14 years older than Tomas
Interesting....

I can't wait to read #9 [b:Complicate|56026446|Complicate (Deliver #9)|Pam Godwin|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1611266613l/56026446._SY75_.jpg|67647379]. Cole's story and, alas, the final book in this series. It will be hard to say goodbye. ( )

I had been looking forward to this book but I'm conflicted on my response to it. In my opinion, it felt rushed and lacked a lot of the depth that I loved about the previous books. I did like certain moments between the old characters where it showed how they were navigating their new roles in each other's lives. These aren't usual friendships forged with happy memories and I liked that the author gave me a chance to see that they still struggle.

Looking forward to the last book. I have a feeling it is going to be intense. ( )
