"There was a beginning once. A beginning that started with being sold to a monster I fell for. There was an ending once. An ending that came cloaked in bloodshed and fury."Eleanor Grace is a simple mortal who has the power to topple a god. She captured his heart, fed him a different future, and fought for a fantasy that wasn't make-believe but destiny. Sully Sinclair is a man masquerading as a monster. He let down his shields and allowed a goddess to show him a simpler path. However, neither of them could predict the war that was coming, nor the toll it would take. A fated romance. A fight that will finish in tears. The age-old battle of good versus evil.… (altro)

Pika and Skittles made it out alive, and the rest is left to be read and not spoken of. I enjoyed the series as a whole, but the last book just tied it up and put the full stop on the end. ( )

If I could give this book and entire series more than 5 stars I would.

How do I even begin to write a review that can even touch on the epicness that is this book? This is a serious question. I pursued a degree in literature because I wanted to be able to dive deep into books and be able to explain what the words or author authors were saying, and more importantly, why they might evoke emotions. Yet, I posit, how I can do this book justice? I am not sure I can but I will try.

From the beginning of this series the person that was always in control was Sully. Sure it could be argued that Elanor held the cards. In many ways she did, but it was Sully that ultimately still was the puppetmaster. However, this book changed the game. Elanor was truly a deity in a land of mere mortals. Her strength, resilience, grace, devotion, and perseverance was everything that I could have wanted and more in a female character. I cried when she cried, I felt despair and anger when she did, and more importantly, I felt the joy and love when she did. THAT is powerful when an author has the ability to do that to someone just with her words.

That is not to say that Sully was weak in this one. He had his moments of being his typical god/devil-like self. I was not expecting his journey to be like it was. My heart hurt so many times and seeing what he was experiencing hurt just as much as what I felt for Elanor. When he triumphed, I cheered. When he fought valiantly, I had his back, and when he became a better man my heart soared that he could be this for Elanor AND because he was redeemed because of her. That takes power, too, because this author created a character that was vile and showed that despite his flaws he was worthy. Instead of the Devil falling from the heavens, he instead became a phoenix rising from the ashes into a new body and having a new purpose. I always vowed that no one could replace Jethro or Elder who was closing in on being number one. I was wrong. Sullivan owns my heart, unequivocally and always. #MoveOverJethro #SullivanisMyForeverAndAlways #SulliedbySully

A world was created that had me suspend my beliefs and lose myself in more than just the figurative way that readers do when they get lost in their imagination. This was losing myself literally in not only the words but also in the fantasy that was because of the effects of Euphoria and the Goddess Isles. Even though the premise behind how these two characters fell in love would not be my choice in real life, it worked in this series. Even though the premise was dark and deplorable it soon lost that feeling as instead, I felt invested in everything that was this series. That includes not just the main characters but the secondary ones, the animals, the sanctuary, and the island itself. If there was a heaven on earth I imagine it is this place where the past can be reforged from the ashes and that sins can be cleansed away.

This ending was everything I could have wanted and more. Granted, I bit a few nails down to the quick before I got there. However, it was worth every drop of wine (okay the bottle--don't judge), every agonizing dream as I waited for the next book to be released, and reminded me yet again why this author is a one-click/preorder even before I have a blurb of what the book is about. She is truly one of a kind. The emails in this one made my HEART jump with joy because I got to be reminded of what and how I came to discover her. Seeing how Sully came to dream about his Goddess... just truly everything I could have wanted and more.

It is always bittersweet to see a series end and that is, most assuredly, true in this case. These characters, including Pika and Skittles, have become my friends and family, yet, this is a series that will be going in my all-time vault and I will be reading them again so that I can visit them often. AND the SURPRISE at the end?!?!?! Just sign me up now.

I know I was supposed to write a review that explained how amazing this book is. Yet, instead, I rambled like a shiny squirrel (which is something this author is prone to making me do). However, in this case, maybe my ramblings of a crazy fan that was sullied by Sully and bewitched by the Goddess Jinx is the best compliment and review I can give. ( )
