This was such a good novella. It packed a lot of feelings into each page. I like reading about older couples especially when they are reconnecting. This isn't necessarily "marriage in trouble" but after 25 years or matrimony, two kids and lonely years passing through one another's lives like ships in the night (due to the Captain's career taking him away for months at a time), you can feel how the couple is not entirely sure how to just be together. ( )

So many people I respect raved about this novella so I read it and I'm glad it did. A beautiful story of a marriage of convenience becoming so much more as the MCs learn that the other has always held them in regard but they didn't see it. A sweet and lovely tale. ( )

Really enjoyed this and I definitely want to read more from this author! This is a romance where our couple are already married but are re-learning each other because our hero is a sailor who has been away most of their marriage. This novella packed a lot in but it never felt like too much. Whenever I go into a novella I'm a little worried about how the author will balance the plot and that was done super well here. I loved how they navigated their daughters engagment and I loved how the hero treated his family, even after spending lots of time apart. Would definitely recommend this story! ( )
